On 3rd December 1984, a cloud of toxic gas leaked from a Union Carbide pesticide plant and spread across the city of Bhopal, India. 8,000 people died within days. In the years since, the death toll has risen to more than 25,000. The Bhopal Medical Appeal is a UK Charity that funds the Sambhavna Clinic in Bhopal. The only place that gives free health care to survivors of the 1984 disaster as well as the victims of the present day water poisoning. We are committed to seeing an end to the pollution that continues to poison the city.
