To promote water safety and to preserve life and property on the territorial seas and inland waters of Canada.

The Candian Lifeboat Institution is a non State funded marine search & resecue service conducting it's affairs in the tradition of the worlds lifeboat services. The Canadian Lifeboat Institution has been in service since 1981. We do not attempt to replace the Canadian Coast Guard or its Auxiliary. We complement the efforts of local, provincial and national organizations with the common goal of marine safety, providing vessels and trained crews to assist local, provincial and national agencies to save those in peril on the waters of Canada. We promote safe boating practices through accident prevention awareness and safety education programs.
