One of Australia’s major charities, the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) is also Australia’s premier special educator. RIDBC’s primary purpose is to provide high quality educational services to children who have significant hearing and/or vision impairment, including children who have additional disabilities. We offer choices and options in educational approaches and settings, commencing the educational process as soon as the diagnosis of significant hearing or vision impairment has been made. We provide children’s audiological services, including diagnostic audiology and we assist parents and families in catering to the special needs of the child. RIDBC conducts in conjunction with a university, a centre for research and professional development, and publishes and disseminates research papers, conducts conferences and seminars and participates in national and international forums.
